SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo Women's Lacrosse program was honored with six academic awards on Monday by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
As a team, Saint Leo was listed among the 313 schools across Division I, II, III and NAIA by the IWLCA Zag Sports Academic Honors during the 2017-18 academic year. To qualify for the IWLCA honor, teams were required to post a 3.0 GPA or higher for the academic year.
Individually,
Amanda Coppolo (Graduate Student, Master of Business Administration),
Rebecca Halley (Junior, Elementary Education),
Katherine Larson (Senior, Biomedical and Health Sciences),
Jody Madsen (Graduate Student, Master of Business Administration) and senior
Abbie Ross (Senior, Sport Business/Accounting) were named to the 2018 IWLCA Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll.

Caitlin Hansen expressed, "I was very fortunate in my first season at Saint Leo to coach a team of academically and athletically motivated players. This recognition is a great honor and something I hope our program will achieve each year. I am especially proud of our graduating class. All four graduates were named to the Honor Roll, which truly reflects what a dedicated group of student-athletes they were. I know they are poised to do big things in their post-college lives."
The five Lions were listed among 220 student-athletes from 59 different institutions. In order to be eligible, student-athletes were required to be either a junior, senior or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
