DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – No. 1 Saint Leo men's tennis foiled No. 12 Embry-Riddle, 7-0, on Saturday. The odd final score was thanks to weather forcing two unfinished matches. The conference win keeps the Lions perfect with an overall record 17-0, 6-0 in the Sunshine State Conference.
"We made doubles an emphasis this week and it definitely paid off against a good Embry-Riddle team," expressed head coach
Chad Berryhill. "We knew that would be the key today and our guys stepped up big time!"
No. 11, no. 1 doubles,
Thomas Grinberg and
Vincent Suillerot, turned in an 8-4 decision while no. 2 duo,
Francisco Aparicio and
Aurel Ciocanu earned an 8-5 win. No. 45, no. 3 doubles,
Jaime Bueno and
Willem Van Den Akker posted an 8-5 win.

Thomas Grinberg is still perfect. Grinberg, now 17-0, finished his opponent 6-3, 6-3. No. 21, no. 2
Vincent Suillerot executed a 7-5, 6-3 win. No. 52, no. 3
Jaime Bueno pulled out a 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 win while no. 4
Bruno Babic battled for a 7-5, 1-6, 10-4 three set victory.
