MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – No. 24 Saint Leo softball defeated Barry 4-1 behind senior
Alison Mitts' one-hitter to move to 29-10, 13-9 in the Sunshine State Conference at Buccaneer Field.

Alison Mitts held the Buccaneers scoreless for four innings before giving up her lone hit of the night a solo shot to left field. After that, lights out holding the Bucs scoreless for the remaining two innings.

Mitts, who picked up her 10th win of the year, tossed the complete seven innings allowing just one run on the one hit with four strikeouts, while walking three.

Bailey McKenna and
Shyanne DuBois both recorded two hits on the night where McKenna was 2-for-3 and DuBois 2-for-4.Â
Kacie Kelly,
Ashley Morris, and
Sommer Pollard all tallied a hit on the night for the Green and Gold.

The Lions opened the game up with two runs in the first inning where DuBois singled up the middle to score Kelly to get things rolling.
Sarah Pauscher hit a sacrifice fly to center field to score DuBois to push the Lions ahead 2-0 after the first half inning.

Saint Leo would add one more in the top of the fifth when McKenna came in to score as the Bucs threw the ball away trying to get
Brittany Creamer out at first; Saint Leo 3-0.

Barry would get on the board when Kristina Osorio took the one out, full count pitch deep to left field for the only run and hit the Bucs would tally against Mitts.

Ashley Morris would score the final run of the game in the seventh inning on a passed ball.
Â
Mitts would retire the side in the bottom of the seventh with two strikeouts and a foul fly to Morris at third.
