BRADENTON, Fla. – First-seeded Saint Leo took down eighth-seed Florida Tech, 5-1, in the Sunshine State Conference quarterfinals on Thursday. The now 20-0 Saint Leo Lions advance to the semifinals, set to take place on Friday, April 20 at 2:00 p.m. The Lions will face fifth-seed Embry-Riddle. The Embry-Riddle Eagles defeated the fourth-seed Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish 5-0 to move on in the tournament.
Saint Leo doubles grabbed a 2-1 lead winning the first and third flights. No. 3 duo
Jaime Bueno and
Willem Van Den Akker cruised to an 8-4 final while the No.1 doubles duo in the country,
Thomas Grinberg and
Vincent Suillerot, battled for a 9-7 win at No. 2.

Vincent Suillerot recorded the first singles win; 6-1, 6-0. No. 37
Jaime Bueno's 6-0, 6-3 decision finished second at no. 3's. Bueno remains undefeated entering the semifinals 18-0. The clinching match came at the no. 6 flight where
Willem Van Den Akker won 6-2, 6-3.
The nations no. 1 singles player,
Thomas Grinberg's match was left unfinished at the no. 1 flight. He held a 6-2, 5-2 advantage over his opponent. He enters tomorrow's match with an overall singles record of 19-0. The remaining two singles, four's and five's, were left unfinished where
Bruno Babic was leading 6-3, 1-2 at four's and
Francisco Aparicio was up 6-2, 3-2 at the fifth flight.
