Kurtenbach’s last second goal against Lynn extends #6 Men's Lacrosse's winning streak to seven

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Tied at 10-10 with 22-seconds left, No. 6 Saint Leo men's lacrosse used its final timeout with possession in the Green and Gold's offensive half. With the time winding down, Charlie Kurtenbach found himself with possession of the ball heading towards the cage with three Lynn Fighting Knights surrounding him. The junior ripped a shot and snuck it past the Lynn goalie to the far post to give the Lions their 11th win of the season and seventh straight, with a 11-10 final. Saint Leo improved to 11-1 and 5-0 in Sunshine State Conference play. 
 
Thomas Tatarian 16 saves held Lynn to 10 goals. For his work, he was selected as the ESPN Division II Showcase player of the game, who was live streaming the Lions and Fighting Knights from University Turf Stadium.

1Q | The Fighting Knights threw the first punch goal at 13:40. Anthony Visintin answered on behalf of the Lions with back-to-back unassisted goals. | Saint Leo 2-1 |
2Q | Jake Gilmour added another unassisted goal to the day to lift Saint Leo 3-1 over Lynn at 14:06. The two goal lead didn't last as the Fighting Knights forced a lead change with a three goal run. Zach Lysyk brought the game back to a tie, 4-4. CJ Stowell's goal assisted by Matt Shand briefly put the Lions back in the lead but Lynn netted another unassisted goal with 3:02 left in the half. | Tied 5-5 |
3Q | Saint Leo took advantage of a man-up opportunity. Gilmour found Lysyk at 12:38. Daniel Sparks unassisted goal helped the Lions to a two goal momentum swing. After two minutes of silence, Lynn stole back the momentum with a pair of goals to level the game at seven goals apiece. The barnburner continued as the quarter ended with a Lynn equalizer, handing the game decision to be made in the fourth quarter. | Tied 8-8 |
4Q | Saint Leo surrendered a lead change to Lynn with a quick Fight Knights goal. Kyle Pauwels and Zach Lysyk showed up big with consecutive goals. With 00:28 seconds remaining in regulation, Conrad Rhein from Lynn tied the game 10-10. With overtime on the minds and with every play electrifying the crowded more than the last, Charlie Kurtenbach finished Matt Shand's pass for the thrilling game winner. | Saint Leo 11-10 |
