CLERMONT, Fla. – No. 8 Saint Leo softball bounced back after dropping its Sunshine State Conference series at Embry-Riddle over the weekend with a massive 14-1 win in six innings over Cedarville before a 6-2 win over Ashland.

The Lions saw
Auria Mounts and
Sara Neuman pick up wins on the day as Mounts pitched the complete 6.0 innings against Cedarville allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits with three strikeouts. Neuman started game two and went 5.0 innings with one run allowed on six hits with three strikeouts.

Alison Mitts came in and pitched two innings in the second game, allowing no hits with no runs while striking out three batters.

Amanda James had the hot bat of the afternoon going 4-for-4 from the plate with three runs scored, a double and home run while recording a 2.000-slugging percentage and an .800-on-base percentage.

Ashley Morris and
Sarah Pauscher joined James with a double on the day where
Bethany Kursch joined James in the home run column.
Bailey Burk recorded the lone triple of the day in the final game of the day.

In the Lions' 14-1 six inning decisive win over Cedarville, Saint Leo used six runs in the top of the sixth to allow the game to be shortened via the run rule. The Lions scored one run in the first followed by two in the third, three in the fourth and one in the fifth.

In the Green and Gold's 6-2 win over the Eagles of Ashland University, Saint Leo used one run in the first, three runs in the fourth and one run in both the fifth and sixth innings.

No. 8 Saint Leo returns to the diamond Wednesday, March 7 at home against Tiffin for a scheduled 5 and 7 p.m. doubleheader.
