Isaacson earns SSC Player of the Week

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Junior Peyton Isaacson was named the Sunshine State Conference Baseball Player of the Week following his performance on the field for the week ending March 4. 

The righty from Galesburg, Ill. paced Saint Leo (13-2) to a sweep of Barry to open up SSC play 6-0. Isaacson went 7-for-13 from the box for a .538 average including five runs scored, one double and three homeruns.

Isaacson tallied 6 RBI and tagged a team-high 17 total bases while finishing the weekend with a 1.308 slugging percentage and a .600 on base percentage. In the field, he finished with 24 putouts and no errors for a 1.000 fielding percentage before picking up one save to end the series. Isaacson pitched 1 inning gave up just one hit and struck out two batters with no runs allowed.

The SSC Player of the Week honor for Isaacson is the second of his career, second of the season, while it is the second of the season for the team.

The Lions return to action on Tuesday, March 6 when the Green and Gold hosts Tiffin for a doubleheader at 3 p.m.
