Boca Raton, Fla. – No. 9 Saint Leo yielded a 5-4 at No. 7 Lynn on Saturday. The Sunshine State Conference loss lowers the Lions' overall record to 12-5, 3-3 in the SSC.
"We definitely had our chances today against a good Lynn team," expressed head coach
Chad Berryhill. "Our team will learn from this and continue to get better, as we have all season."
Marta Vicens Miquel and
Andrada Gordan were the only pair to close a Saint Leo win in doubles. The no. 2 duo topped the Fighting Knights 8-4.
Lynn secured the match win taking no. 1, no. 4 and no. 2 singles. Saint Leo continued a steadfast battle, taking the last three matches in three set fashion.
Berryhill concluded, "I am very proud of the effort today from our team."
