SAINT LEO, Fla. –  A 5-4 decision slipped by the #10 Saint Leo Lions facing #9 Academy of Art on Tuesday. The tight loss lowers the Lions' overall record to 10-4.

No. 3 doubles, Kristyna Jurkova and Sophie Vlietstra tallied an 8-6 win. No. 2 doubles, Marta Vicens Miquel and Andrada Gordan, clinched a 9-8 (5) battle to lift the Lions 2-1 heading into singles play.

No. 4 Madeleine Gauthier defeated No. 64 Alma Thell-Lenntorp 6-2, 6-1. No. 2 Kristyna Jurkova rolled by her opponent 6-2, 6-2.

Saint Leo continues play against national competition on Wednesday, March 28 at 3:00 p.m. hosting Tampa.
