Women's lacrosse tames Bulldogs 18-6, Ferguson resets school season points record

Box Score WINGATE, N.C. –  The #17 Saint Leo Lions tamed the Wingate Bulldogs 18-6 on Sunday. The high scoring game was generated off 10 different Saint Leo sticks. In the midst of the offensive rampage, junior attacker, Leslie Ferguson scored five goals and dished out one assist to become the newest Saint Leo season points record holder at 57 (45 goals, 12 assists). In addition, her five goals moved her season count to 45 goals, tying the single season goals record.

Saint Leo earned two wins within 24 hours during its weekend road trip. The pair raised the Lions' overall record to 9-2.

"I am really happy with our weekend results," said head coach Caitlin Hansen. "This was a mental toughness test for us with three games in four days and over 20 hours of bus time but we rose to the occasion."

"Leslie Ferguson had a big offensive day and broke two program records in the process," continued Hansen. "All three of our goalies saw time today and made quality saves. We were able to get everyone involved and we close out non-conference play on a positive note. There is nothing more I could ask for!"
