TAMPA, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's track team competed at the University of South Florida Bulls Invitational on Friday. The Lions were led by
Niclas Bez who took first place in the 800 meter crossing the finish line in 1:52.79.
Joshua Sickinger took home a second place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase handing in a final time of 9:44.86.
Paul Mccrimon III joined Bez in the 800 meter race placing 38
th at 2:10.73. In addition, he finished 16
th in the high jump at 1.75 meters.
Five Lions peppered the stat sheet in the 5000 meter event.
Anthony Deleva showcased an eighth place finish at 15:55.51. Four in Green and Gold quickly followed, in 13
th place
Stephen Brown (16:21.46), 14
th place was filled by
Joseph Fuller (16:21.76), 16
th place was
Tyler Pantley (16:39.11) and 17
th place was taken by
Ethan Markey (16:40.62).
Saint Leo featured another top ten place in the 1500 meter by
Tadgh McGinty. McGinty rounded out the final 10 at 4:08.73. Teammate
Brandon Cruz followed in 35
th place at 4:35.26.
In sprint events,
Beau Kary placed 41
st in the 400 meter dash (56.39),
Kenneth Covey grabbed a 62
nd place finish in the 200 meter dash and
Andrew Sands placed 38
th in the 100 meter dash (11.66).
