AS A JUNIOR (2020)
Competed in three indoor meets and a pair of outdoor meets of the Lions during the COVID-19 shortened season … earned three top-10 finishes … part of the second place distance medley relay squad at the KMS Invitational (1/26) … took fifth in the 3,000m at the UAB Green and Gold Invitational (1/24) in 9:21.45 … placed 10th in the 5,000m at the South Alabama Jaguar Invitational (2/2) in 15:37.59 … posted a PR in the 3,000m at the UT Track Invitational (2/21) at 8:55.30 while finishing 11th … took 24th in the 5,000m while posting a PR of 15:13.51 at the UT Track Classic (2/28).

AS A FRESHMAN (2018)
U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-South Region honoree in the steeplechase … competed in eight meets for the Lions … posted nine top-10 finishes … took first in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Seminole Twilight (5/4) in 9:48.61 … part of the first place distance medley relay team at the UT Track Classic (3/2) … placed second in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Embry-Riddle Spike’s Classic (4/6) in 9:51.35 … part of the third place 4x400m relay team at the UT Track Classic (3/2) … earned a PR of 9:36.82 while placing fourth in the 3,000m steeplechase at the UF Tome Jones Memorial (4/13) … posted a fifth place finish at the Coastal Carolina Invitational (3/9) in the steeplechase in 10:13.19 … earned three 10th place finishes at the UT Track Classic (3/2) in the 1,500m, in the 3,000m at the Embry-Riddle First Chance Last Chance meet (2/17) and a PR in the 1,500m at the USF Bulls Invitational (3/22) at 4:08.73.

CAREER
Irish schools national steeplechase champion… finished ninth at Irish schools cross country championships.

Career goals are to one day represent Ireland in the Olympics… believes his greatest asset to the team is his strength… favorite team in Manchester United… favorite food is spaghetti bolognaise… son of Ben McGinty and Donna Lane… has three sisters, Shannon, Sinead, and Leonna; and one brother, Daniel.
