Box Score SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's lacrosse team stayed perfect on the road at Belmont Abbey on Friday as the Lions leveled Belmont Abbey 19-8.
Saint Leo's 8-0 first half run jumpstarted the Lions in North Carolina.
Delaney Chrisco scored five goals in five shots, going 2-2 in free position shots and tallied an assist for a six-point game. Chrisco won seven draw controls as the Lions won 16-of-27. She picked up a ground ball and caused two turnovers.
Head Coach Catlin Hansen express, "This was such an exciting win for us! The energy from the sideline was awesome and the on field effort was the best it has been. We were a fun team to watch today on both ends of the field. Erin made some big plays in cage and our defense really shut down Belmont Abbey's attack."
Hansen continued, "The draw control work of
Sarah Pierson and
Delaney Chrisco today was huge! They fueled our attack and our attackers play well together. Leslie, Kaylah and Delaney put up big numbers, but it was an all-around team win. I am really proud of how we are coming together and looking forward to finishing the road trip strong on Sunday."

How It Happened...
1H | Belmont Abbey's goal leveled the score at 1-1. Saint Leo controlled the narrative of the first half posting an 8-0 goal run. The Lions scored 6-of-8 free position goals on their way to an extremely efficient offensive half. Saint Leo scored nine goals from 12 shots on frame in the first stanza of action.
