TAMPA, Fla. – After leaving 13 runners on base, No. 10 Saint Leo baseball dropped both Sunshine State Conference games Saturday at No. 17 Tampa, 3-0 and 6-0. The Lions moved to 19-5, 6-3 SSC after the series loss to the Spartans.

Five pitchers saw action Saturday where
Jordan Pendleton and
Shane Haight got the starts in each of the two games. Pendleton tossed the complete game for game one going 8.0 innings with eight hits and three runs, two earned, while fanning five batters.

Haight lasted five innings in game two allowing four runs on four hits with one strikeout before
McCabe Sargent entered the game for one inning. Sargent allowed just one hit and no runs while walking one batter.

Drew Tumbelty came in for one inning of work allowing three hits and two runs while tallying one strikeout. Joey Anotonopoulos came in for the final inning of work and struck out two batters while holding the Spartans to no hits and no runs.

From the box, Saint Leo as a team went 9-for-62 combined with two doubles and 11 total bags.
Jake Sims and
Brett Coffel were credited with two hits apiece where
Jared Morello,
Peyton Isaacson,
Amir Wright,
Lane Stancil, and
Zach Scott each added one hit on the day. Sims had both of the Lions' doubles.

Game One - #17 Tampa 3, #10 Saint Leo 0
Saint Leo dropped game one 3-0 to Tampa where the Lions left runners on in six of nine innings including two in the third and eighth. The Spartans scored a run in the first, third and sixth to take a 3-0 win.

Tampa singled through the right side to take a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first before a sacrifice fly in the third allowed the Spartans to move ahead 2-0. A solo home run in the bottom of the sixth put Tampa ahead 3-0.

Jordan Pendleton came out of the bottom of the seventh and eighth and tossed two 1-2-3 innings to close out his complete game appearance.

Game Two - #17 Tampa 6, #10 Saint Leo 0
Tampa jumped all over the Lions with four runs in the first inning before five scoreless innings between the teams. The Spartans would add two more runs in the sixth inning to make it 6-0.

Saint Leo left five runners on base while scattering five hits in the game.
Joey Antonopoulos tossed a 1-2-3 eighth inning, holding the Spartans from scoring any more runs with a fly out and two strikeouts.
