Box Score SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo executed a 19-7 decision over American International College on Monday. The Lions were led by
Leslie Ferguson with seven goals, one assist, resetting Saint Leo's record for most goals scored in a game and becoming the program's second highest holder in points earned in a single game.
Saint Leo also celebrated
Abbie Ross, the fourth Lion in program history to reach 100 points. Her first goal netted at 16:46 marked her 100
th career point. She finished the day with two goals, two ground balls, three draw controls and two caused turnovers.
"It was nice to rebound from Friday with a win and a win that had several milestones," said head coach
Caitlin Hansen. "Abbie getting her 100
th career point and Leslie setting a goals in a game record with seven gave us good momentum as we head into a 10-day stretch without games."
Hansen continued, "
Erin Davis and the defense made some big stops early on to keep AIC off the board and that set the tone for us. We reached our goals to win the draw control and ground ball battle and we were able to capitalize on those possessions on the attacking end of the field. All in all, it was another team win!"
