Isaacson named Sunshine State Conference Baseball Player of the Week

SAINT LEO, Fla. – Peyton Issacson was named the Sunshine State Conference Baseball Player of the Week on Monday, February 26.

Peyton Isaacson led the Lions to their first Sunshine State Conference opening series sweep in 17 years with a 3-0 series win on the road at Lynn. Isaacson went 7-for-15 from the dish for a .467 batting average with four runs scored. The junior from Galesburg, Ill tallied a 1.067-slugging percentage and an .529 on-base percentage where he recorded three doubles and hit two home runs, including a grandslam in the Lions' 15-6 come back in to earn the series sweep. Isaacson touched 16 total bags where he notched two walks on the weekend. In the field, the first baseman/pitcher tallied 25 putouts and had two assists with no errors for a 1.000 fielding-percentage. On the mound, the righty tossed one inning of work on Saturday and picked up his sixth save of the year, while giving up no hits or no runs for the Lions.

The Lions return to action on Friday, March 2 at 6:00 p.m. in a single game against Barry at Saint Leo's Thomas B. Southard Stadium.
