SAINT LEO, Fla. – No. 10 Saint Leo softball defeated Florida Tech in both games of the twin bill to sweep the series from the Panthers in Sunshine State Conference action Saturday at University Softball Stadium. The Lions won game one 7-4 and moved to 12-3 and 4-2 SSC after winning game two 3-1.

Auria Mounts and
Sara Neuman each picked up wins on the day where Mounts pitched game one and Neuman game two. Mounts pitched 3.1 innings against the Panthers in game one before turning things over to
Alison Mitts, who earned her first save going 3.2 innings allowing just three hits and no runs.
Â
Neuman got the nod in game two going 6.1 innings with five hits and just one run allowed where she tallied three strikeouts. Mounts came in to pick up the final two outs in game two to close the door on the Panthers recording one strikeout.

In all on the day, Mounts pitched 4.0 innings, allowing four runs on four hits. All three pitchers for the Green and Gold recorded three strikeouts Saturday afternoon.

From the plate,
Bailey McKenna led the way going 2-for-2 in game two with one double and a 1.500-slugging percentage.
Bethany Kursch and
Sarah Pauscher each went 3-for-6 with two runs scored where Kursch tacked on four RBI, including a three-run homer in game two.

In game one of the day, the Lions scored six runs in the bottom of the first before the Panthers scored four in the top of the second to answer the Green and Gold. Saint Leo went on to hold off the Panthers while scoring one more run in the fifth inning.

In game two, Florida Tech scored first in the top of the third before Saint Leo scored three in the bottom half before the pitchers and defense held eachother scoreless. With two on and one out,
Bethany Kursch stepped up and took the inside pitch deep to left field where it just snuck out of the park for the three-run dinger.

No. 10 Saint Leo returns to the diamond Tuesday, Feb. 27 when the Lions host the Flagler College Saints at University Softball Stadium for a 4-and-6 p.m. doubleheader.
