SAINT LEO, Fla. – After moving the series to Thomas B. Southard Stadium, the Saint Leo baseball team split its twin bill with West Alabama Saturday, falling 10-7 in game one before taking game two 2-1.

Jordan Pendleton and
Tyler Bauman were the starters on the mound for the Lions where Pendleton pitched game one going 6.1 innings allowing five hits and five runs, three earned, while striking out five. Pendleton received a no decision after
Oscar Gordillo came in for 2.1 innings of relief allowing five runs on four hits.
Blake Bodin pitched the final 0.1 innings allowing no hits and no runs with one strikeout.

Bauman was dealing for the Green and Gold in game two where he earned his first win on a 1.29 ERA allowing eight hits and just one run while fanning 11 of the 28 batters he faced.
McCabe Sargent came in for one inning of work allowing one hit and recording one strikeout while
Peyton Isaacson picked up his fourth save of the year closing out the ninth inning striking out all three batters he faced to seal the win.

Game one of the Tigers and Lions was an offensive onslaught and defensive struggle while game two was a pitchers duel. Game one saw 20 hits, seven errors and 17 runs before a second game that consisted of 14 hits, one error and three runs. The pitchers in game one combined for 17 stirkeouts while game two pitchers combined for 31.

Brett Coffel and
Zach Scott paced the Lions on the day going 4-for-9 from the plate where
Tate Sweatt went 1-for-2. Scott and
Lane Stancil tied for the team lead in runs scored at two where Coffel,
Amir Wright,
Derek Gibree,
Peyton Isaacson, and
Chase Turner all scored one run on the day.

Gibree and Scott each knocked one double on the day where Coffel and Scott both hit long balls on the day. Coffel finished with four RBI, ahead of Scott and Wright at two and
Jared Morello with one.

Saint Leo will return to the diamond Feb. 18 at 12 p.m. for the series finale against West Alabama at Thomas B. Southard Stadium.
