St. Petersburg, Fla. – Eckerd's hot hands overwhelmed Saint Leo, handing the Lions an 85-47 loss in the Sunshine State Conference opener. Saint Leo saw 13 Eckerd three-pointers from six different Tritons on Wednesday.
Gina Brierley tallied 11 points going 4-for-9 from the field. She added a pair of free throws, two rebounds, an assist and two steals to her night.
Alani Gallagher grabbed team-high six rebounds.
Head Coach Crocitto said, "Although Eckerd shot the ball at an alarmingly exceptional level, you can not give up 47 points in a half and expect to compete in ball games. We will get back to practice tomorrow, work hard, and get ready for PBA."
