LAKELAND, Fla. – Saint Leo women's cross country placed sixth, after a tiebreaker with Tampa, at the NCAA Division II South Region Championship at Holloway Park Saturday morning. The Lions scored a total of 141 points, tying with Sunshine State Conference foe but taking sixth on a 3-2 win in the tie breaker, on the 6K course with a race time temperature of 55-degrees.

Newcomers
Paige Patterson and
Ashley Lindeman paced the Green and Gold in 23rd and 24th place, respectively, as four Lions finished inside the top-30.
Alyssa Bayliff and
Laura Tobin both came in close to each other to round out the top-30 runners for the Lions in 27th and 28th place, respectively.

Patterson ran the course in 22:48.57, where Lindeman was two-seconds behind at 22:50.20. Bayliff and Tobin came across the finish line five-seconds apart with Bayliff clocking 23:00.10 and Tobin 23:05.48.

Noemi Anaya (43rd, 23:36.43), Aoife Mahon (61st, 24:15.68) and
Sage Lyons (97th, 25:41.71) rounded out the Green and Gold runners on the course.

Embry-Riddle (1st, 78 points), Union (2nd, 112 points), and Lee (3rd, 120 points) automatically qualify for nationals out of the South Region.
