SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo Lions honored its four seniors (
Yuga Yanagisawa,
Carlos Moncayo,
Michael Tinari and
Haydn Dickinson) to open Wednesday night against Rollins at the Saint Leo Soccer Field.
Rollins (9-5, 3-5 SSC) sealed a 2-1 decision over Saint Leo (3-11, 0-8 SSC) with a second half goal.
A loose ball in the box was taken care of by Rollins' Max Muecke in the 23
rd minute. Saint Leo battled back with the equalizer in the 41st minute.
Jack Astill took a tight shot from the left side of the field and found the back of the right post, the freshman's first collegiate goal.
Rollins stole the show with a quick rip by Devin Da Rocha Figue that hit the upper 90 right corner of the net.
Wessel Berenschot earned two saves but was forced to take the loss in goal.
Saint Leo will close out the 2018 season on the road. The Lions will visit #19 Barry on Saturday, October 20 at 6 p.m. followed by a trip to Tampa on Tuesday, October 23.
