MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's soccer team fell 4-2 at No. 19 Barry on Saturday.
Freshman midfielder,
Noah Nixon, scored his first collegiate goal in the 7
th minute to answer the Bucs early lead. Barry snuck in two more goals before the half. A red card issued to Barry in the 42
nd minute handed the Green and Gold a man-up situation for the second stanza. Senior defender,
Yuga Yanagisawa, converted a penalty kick to close the gap, 3-2. Despite the efforts, Barry ensured the decision at the 89
th minute mark with the go-ahead goal.
Saint Leo (3-12, 0-9 SSC) ripped eight shots while Barry (11-3-1, 6-2-1 SSC) took 14.
The 2018 Saint Leo Lions men's soccer season will come to a close on the road at Tampa on Tuesday, October 23. Kickoff against the Spartans is scheduled for 7 p.m.
