Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Early lead doesn’t last for men's soccer at #20 Nova Southeastern

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – Elias Niesigk scored two goals against the No. 20 Nova Southeastern Sharks Saturday night. Niesigk's pair lifted Saint Leo 2-1 in the 29th minute but the Lions were unable to outlast the nationally ranked Sunshine State Conference foe.

Nova (10-3, 6-2 SSC) scored off a corner in the 19th minute that was matched and raised by Saint Leo (3-10, 0-7 SSC). Niesigk's first goal converted a corner kick by Michael Tinari in the 23rd minute. Five minutes later, he struck again, this time beating the keeper unassisted.

Nova tied up the game in the 31st minute followed by a three-goal offensive surge in the second half.

Christian Evans posted four saves in goal for the Lions.

Saint Leo will host Rollins to close the 2018 home schedule. Following senior night festivities, the Lions will kick off against the Tars at 7 p.m.
