SAINT LEO, Fla. – After two double overtime visits last week, the Saint Leo Lions put up a convincing 6-1 decision over Webber International on Wednesday. The Green and Gold's six goals where netted by five different strikers.
Saint Leo (3-7-1) dominated the shot count with 30 shots over the 10 taken by Webber International (3-8). The Lions added seven corner kicks to their offensive surge.
Adriana Tirado,
Raylyn Straubmuller, and
Scarlett Cooper each tallied their first goals of the season for the Saint Leo Lions.
Bailey Hern and
Brianna Thompson improved their season goal count to two.
In goal,
Julia Ortiz earned a save in 45 minutes of work.
Alexis Middleton earned her first collegiate appearance to close out the goal tending responsibilities. Middleton also earned one stop in 45 minutes.
The Lions return to competition in the Sunshine State Conference on Saturday, October 13 at 7 p.m., at they host the #20 Nova Southeastern Sharks.
