SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo women's soccer team's late efforts fell short against the Nova Southeastern Sharks on Saturday. Nova downed Saint Leo 2-0, as the Green and Gold was unable to climb out of a two goal halftime deficit.
An own goal in the 13
th minute combined with an attack that broke the Lions back line the 24
th minute, handed the Sharks the lead.
Saint Leo generated 12 shots in the ladder 45 minutes led by
Brianna Thompson with six shots. Despite efforts, Natalie Robayna earned the shutout in goal for Nova Southeastern.
Saint Leo goalkeeper, Julia Oritz, earned three saves but was forced to take the loss.
Saint Leo returns to the road for the last time of the season on Wednesday, October 17. The Lions visit Rollins, kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
