SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's soccer team put together a 2-1 second half comeback led by
Elias Niesigk's equalizer and
Haydn Dickinson's game-winning header.
Saint Leo (3-9) took only seven shots and managed to convert two-of-four shots taken on frame into goals. In addition, the Lions earned five corners over the hosts' lone corner. Flagler (3-7) shot ten times, two of which landed on frame.
The Lions fell behind at the 37
th minute when Tryggvi Magnusson of the Saints collected a loose ball near the net.
The 67
th minute marked the momentum change.
Noah Nixon's ball found
Elias Niesigk who found the back of the net, his fourth goal of the season. 15 minutes later,
Karl Nyman struck a perfect pass to
Haydn Dickinson, who decided the game.
Goalkeeper,
Wessel Berenschot, earned one save in 90 minutes of action.
On Saturday, October 13 at 7 p.m. the Lions kickoff at Nova Southeastern to continue play on the road.
