MELBOURNE, Fla. – No. 25 Saint Leo volleyball ended the weekend with a 3-1 win over Florida Tech in the Charles and Ruth Clemente Center behind Britt Sederholm and Nina Vattovaz's double-doubles. After falling in the first set 25-11 in a Sunshine State Conference matchup, the Lions rallied back to take the second and third sets 25-22 before taking the fourth and final 25-19.

Saint Leo (13-5, 7-3 SSC) saw Britt Sederholm notch her double-double with match-high 15 kills and 10 digs where Nina Vattovaz completed her double-double with 14 kills and 15 digs. Anna Garrett was the leader in the match with 45 assists.

Dallas Jasper led the team with a .333 hitting percentage slamming down 11 kills as Victoria Omoregie landed 10 kills from the right side. Reggie Van Devender paced the Lions in digs with 15 where Jenya Kruglova tallied 13.

As a team, the Lions took the third and fourth set with a .294 and .333 team clip with 18 and 16 kills, respectively. The Green and Gold finished the night with 56 kills on a .211 team hitting percentage.

Florida Tech (7-10, 2-9 SSC) saw three players finish in double-digits in kills led by Kiersten Rosa who notched a triple-double with 14 kills, 15 digs and 32 assists. Shiela Villagrasa led the Panthers in digs with 19.

FLORIDA TECH 25-11 | The Panthers controlled a majority of the first set. A kill by Allie Daul would tie things up at 4-4 before the two teams flipped points. The Lions would fall behind by a point and rally to tie it. A kill by Dallas Jasper would pull the Green and Gold to within one, 9-8, as the Panthers would sprint out to an 18-9 lead forcing a Lions' timeout. The Panthers would close the set on a 7-2 run to take the opening set.

SAINT LEO 25-22 | Florida Tech continued to start hot as the Panthers opened the second set leading 2-1. A service error killed the momentum for FIT tying the match 2-2, as Dallas Jasper pushed the Lions ahead 3-2. After taking the 3-2 lead, Saint Leo continued to hold a lead for the remainder of the set. The Panthers climbed to within one, 11-10 and 12-11, before the Lions climbed it to five point lead, 16-11 off three straight kills by Nina Vattovaz. Saint Leo would continue to roll taking the second set and tying things at 1-1.

SAINT LEO 25-22 | With the momentum carrying over the intermission, the Lions opened up with a 3-0 lead in the third set. Florida Tech would charge back and take a two point lead a few times before the Lions would tie it and the two teams would exchange points until Nina Vattovaz and Dallas Jasper recorded three kills for the Lions to put it at 14-11 Saint Leo. After an attack error closed the gap to 16-15, the Lions wouldn't look back holding their lead and edging out the Panthers 9-7 to end the set and take a 2-1 lead.

SAINT LEO 25-19 | Continuing the run from the third set, Saint Leo opened the fourth on a 4-1 run. Tying things up, the Panthers would battle back to take a 10-9 lead for a brief moment before Britt Sederholm slammed it down to tie it at 10-10. Both teams would continue to trade points in a fourth set catfight before regained control after tying it 15-15 on a Dallas Jasper kill and taking the lead 16-15 on Nina Vattovaz's kill. From the 16-15 lead, Saint Leo would hold the Panthers to four points where the Green and Gold went on to score nine to take the set and match with a 25-19 fourth.

Saint Leo returns home for a meeting with the Tampa Spartans, who continue to be on a hot run in the month of October. The Lions and Spartans are scheduled for a first serve at 7 p.m. inside the Marion Bowman Activities Center.
