Saint Leo women's basketball head coach Anthony Crocitto announced the addition of Megan Dzikas on his coaching staff in July 2016.
In March 2017, Dzikas was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's "Thirty Under 30" list. The WBCA ‘Thirty Under 30’ special recognition program was created to honor 30 up-and-coming women's basketball coaches age 30 and under at all levels of the game. Each recipient has exemplified their involvement in community service, mentorship and impact on others, professional manner and attitude and professional association involvement. Dzikas, the only honoree from the Sunshine State Conference, recently finished her first season at Saint Leo under head coach Anthony Crocitto.
The 2012 graduate of Sunshine State Conference member Florida Southern was part of the Mocs back-to-back conference championship seasons in 2011 and 2012 and was the 2009 SSC Freshman of the Year. She added a Second Team All-SSC honor over her career and left FSC second among career assists leaders and tenth in career points.
Dzikas comes to Saint Leo after a head coaching stint at St. Catherine College in Springfield, Ky. She spent two seasons at SCC, her first as the first assistant, before being named head coach prior to the 2015-16 season. Her time with the Patriots gave her experience in scheduling, travel, and opportunities to work with the admissions office and financial aid office.
Her coaching career started following her graduation from Florida Southern, when she accepted a graduate assistant position at Goucher College, a NCAA DIII member in Towson, Md. While at Goucher, Dzikas was involved in many aspects of the program from recruiting, designing practice plans, and scouting, to breaking down film, instructing weight training and promoting the team through social media, all while earning her master's degree.
Dzikas, a native of Bradenton, Fla., graduated from Florida Southern in April 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in sports management. She obtained her Master of Education degree from Goucher College in May 2014 with a specialization in athletic administration and leadership.
