Cale Girten returned to his alma mater to join the coaching staff in 2019-2020. Girten was a four-year player for the Green and Gold from 2011-2015 where he appeared in 119 career games.

Girten wrapped up his career with 525 points on a career shooting percentage of .402 (186-463) from the field where the forward tallied 323 total rebounds, 147 assists and snagged 49 blocks in the Green and Gold.

As a member of the Lions basketball team, Girten was a three-time Defensive Player of the Year as well as a two-year team captain. He was a member of the first Sunshine State Conference title in program history while he was a member of three NCAA tournament teams, with two trips to the round of 32.

The New Prague, Minnesota native, played for four years under head coach Lance Randall and completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree from Saint Leo University in Sport Business.

Girten resides in Tampa, Fla. with his girlfriend, and former Saint Leo women’s soccer standout, Dari Alcantara and their son Carter Ray.
