Biography

AS A SENIOR (2014-15)
Started 28 of 29 games played as a senior… averaged 8.8 ppg and 3.5 rpg for the Lions… fourth on the team in scoring average, and finished the season with 254 points… recorded 13 double-digit scoring performances… scored a career-high 24 points at Eckerd (2/25) with 8-of-10 shooting from the field, including a perfect 7-of-7 from 3-point range versus the Tritons… the 24-point effort vs. Eckerd matched an individual single game high for Saint Leo in 2014-15, and the seven 3FG made was also a single game season-best… his only other 20-point performance was a 21-point effort against Florida Tech (1/3)… was Saint Leo’s 3-point shooting leader with 57 3-point field goals… dished out six assists vs. Miles (12/17) for a season high… recorded five of his 21 steals during 2014-15 in the season opener at Alabama-Huntsville (11/14), and grabbed seven rebounds the next day vs. North Alabama (11/15) – both season-best marks.

AS A JUNIOR (2013-14)
Played in and started 32 games for the Lions’ during his junior season… Averaged 26.9 minutes per game… Tallied 4.8 points per game from the forward position… Earned a 39 percent field goal average… Sank 33.8 percent of shots from behind the three-point arc… Shot 62 percent from the free-throw line… Pulled down 3.7 rebounds per game… Notched a career-high seven assists in the Lions’ win over Shorter (11/17/13)… Tied a career-high scoring effort against Flagler with 13 points (11/19/13)… Shot a perfect 1.000 percent from the field in four games during the season… Scored in double-digits twice. 

AS A SOPHOMORE (2012-13)
Girten saw time on the brand new Bowman Center hardwood in 28 games where he made seven starts…a role player on the Sunshine State Conference Regular Season Championship team, he averaged 1.1 points-per-game with a 38.7 field goal percentage after connecting on 12 field goals…Connecting on five 3-pointers, he made the shots from long range when they mattered most, connecting on four of his season’s five treys against conference teams…Pulled down 37 rebounds (1.7r/g)…Notched 21 assists (0.8a/g)…Forced three steals…Scored a career-high 13 points on the road at Florida Southern (02/13/13) in a big win over the Mocs…Tied his career high in three-pointers when he connected on 3-of-4 attempts against Florida Southern (02/13/13)…Registered a season-mark in rebounding twice with four boards against both Virginia Union (12/15/12) and Florida Tech (01/19/13).

AS A FRESHMAN (2011-12)
In his first year playing for the Lions Girten competed in 30 games, making 22 starts…Averaged 2.9 points-per-game…Made 31 field goals, including 13 from behind the three-point line…Compiled 67 rebounds (2.2 r/g)…Notched 29 assists (1.0 a/g)…Forced eight steals…Scored season high 11 points against Nova Southeastern (02/29/12)…Connected on a season-best three 3-point field goals against Nova Southeastern (02/29/12)…Set season high in rebounds with seven against Tuskegee (12/18/11)…Forced two steals on the road at Tampa (01/04/12).
