Josiah Hissong joined the Saint Leo baseball staff as an assistant coach in the Fall of 2019. He was a former student-athlete at Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi, W.Va.

Hissong saw his first season on the diamond for the Lions cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to the stoppage he helped guide the Lions to a four-game sweep of his alma mater Alderson Broaddus.

Hissong spent three years as a catcher for the Battlers before transitioning into a student coach role. He helped with the catchers during his one season as a student coach before spending the summer working for the Indiana Chargers as the head coach of their 16U program.

Hissong graduated from ABU with a degree in business administration.
