Hunter Keim returned to Saint Leo in the fall of 2024 as an assistant coach for the 2025 season, reuniting with his brother, first-year head baseball coach Josh Keim. A native of Rock Island, Illinois, Keim brings a strong background in both playing and coaching, with a particular focus on pitching.
Keim will focus on developing the pitching staff, bringing his experience and expertise to help the Lions achieve success on the field.
Keim graduated from Rock Island High School in 2017 and began his collegiate baseball career at Quincy University. He then transferred to Arizona Western Junior College, where he earned an Associate of Arts degree. Continuing his academic and athletic journey, Keim enrolled at Saint Leo University, where he contributed valuable innings out of the bullpen for the Lions and completed his Bachelor's degree in Sports Business in 2022.
Keim pursued further education at Saint Ambrose University, earning a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership in 2023. During his time at Saint Ambrose, he also excelled on the mound, achieving a 6-1 record with a 1.76 ERA over 17 appearances. His standout performance earned him First Team All-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors as a pitcher. Following his playing career, Keim served as the Director of Athletic Facilities and pitching coach at Saint Ambrose for the 2023-2024 academic year.
