All-SSC Doubles Second Team … earned a 6-4 doubles record with partner Aurel Ciocanu … snagged a first flight win against Eckerd … earned a 5-4 second flight record … earned doubles team wins against #12 Florida Southern, #10 Lynn University, #12 Florida Southern, #10 Delta State … earned a 1-0 singles record in the fifth flight against #12 Florida Southern’s Tim Becker (6-4, 7-6).

AS A SENIOR (2020)
SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll ... Finished the season ranked no. 9 in the ITA Doubles South Region poll with Aurel Ciocanu … went 3-2 in sixth singles, 2-6 in first doubles … defeated double duo Daniel Belsito and Josep Canyadell of no. 4 Wingate (6-1) in the Lions’ 4-2 win, which clinched the fifth place finish at the ITA Indoor Championships.

AS A JUNIOR (2019)
Earned a 13-9 singles record notching an 11-9 fifth flight and 2-0 fourth flight marks … registered an 11-9 doubles record … paired with Aurel Ciocanu, Van Den Akker finished the season ranked No. 22 in doubles by the ITA with a 10-7 season record … the pair closed the season on a two-match win streak...D2ADA Academic Achievement Award winner. 

AS A SOPHOMORE (2018)
Sunshine State Conference (SSC) doubles second-team with Jaime Bueno … finished 14-4 in singles play … earned a 2-1 singles mark at Flight No. 5 and 12-3 record at Flight No. 6 … finished 19-4 in doubles play … went 18-4 in doubles with Jaime Bueno going 12-2 at Flight No. 2 and 6-2 at Flight No. 3 … captured a 1-0 record in doubles with Bruno Babic at Flight No. 3 … named to the 2018 Spring SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

AS A FRESHMAN (2017)
Finished with a 4-5 record, 3-2 in the SSC, in singles action … went 2-0 at No. 5, 2-5 at No. 6 … went 9-3 in doubles, all at Flight No. 3 … 8-1 with Jaime Bueno, 0-2 with Charles Benet, 1-0 with Chadi Omeis  … named to the 2017 Spring SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Played club tennis for Hillegomse Tennis Club under Coach Harry Verdegaal.

Son of Jan Willem and Petra Van Den Akker … has one sister, Sam … if he had one super power, it would be teleportation because then you can get anywhere you want within a second … favorite foods are lasagna and sushi.
