ORLANDO, Fla. – For the first time in his career, junior
Luis Gaitan was named the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.
This marks back-to-back weeks that the men's soccer program has boasted the SSC Offensive Player of the Week as junior
Virgilio Escala received the honor last week.
This week, Gaitan helped guide the Lions to a 4-3 victory over #17 Florida Southern in non-conference play. The Panama native tallied a pair of goals in the contest which marked his first career brace.
The Green & Gold will return to action on Wednesday, September 15 as they will host Tampa in a conference game, starting at 7 p.m.
