SAINT LEO, Fla. – Former Saint Leo men's basketball player, Tae Wilson, has signed a professional overseas contract for the 2026-27 season for the Olpe Siegen Black Flyz in Germany, competing in the 1st Regionalliga.  

Wilson said, "This opportunity means everything to me. Playing professionally has been a goal of mine as long as I can remember and to see it become a reality is a blessing."

During his 2024-25 campaign in the Green & Gold, Wilson played in 28 games and eclipsed his 1,000th career point on January 1, 2025 during an 80-70 victory against Barry. He averaged a career-high 16.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Additionally, he shot 50% from the field and 36.7% from beyond the arc. Wilson transferred to Saint Leo from Charleston in the summer of 2024. As a member of the Golden Eagles, Wilson played four seasons and totaled 799 points, 74 assists, 75 blocks, and 60 steals. He also converted 71.8 percent of his free throw attempts with a 63.0 field goal percentage. 

"Over the last couple of years, I've become a more complete player taking my role of one through four. I've worked hard on improving my decision-making, shooting consistency, defensive versatility and understanding of the game. I feel I've matured both on and off the court, and that growth has prepared me for the challenges of playing professionally" , said Wilson on his development over the years.

Saint Leo head men's basketball coach Spencer Henke stated, "I'm incredibly proud of Tae for achieving his dream of becoming a pro. His growth during his time at Saint Leo is what got him to this point, and he is a great example for all future Lions. I'm proud to be Tae's biggest supporter as he starts his professional career."
