Women's Soccer Earns First Win Of Greco Era In A 1-0 Clash With Middle Georgia

SAINT LEO, Fla. — Saint Leo University women's soccer earned a 1–0 victory over Middle Georgia on Saturday at University Soccer Field, improving to 1–1-0 on the season.

First Half:
Saint Leo controlled the attack early, outshooting Middle Georgia 12–0 and earning five corner kicks. The Lions created several chances but could not find the breakthrough before halftime, with Middle Georgia goalkeeper Hollie Keefe making four saves.

Second Half:
The Lions continued to pressure the Knights and finally broke through in the 77th minute, when Chloe Froese ran the length of the field to score the game's lone goal. Saint Leo finished with 23 shots to Middle Georgia's three and held a 6–1 advantage in corner kicks. Addison Pitts made two saves to preserve the shutout. This also marks the first win of the Alex Greco era at Saint lLo.

Saint Leo's 23–3 advantage in shots and 6–1 edge in corner kicks highlighted the Lions' control of the match. The women's soccer team will now hit the road for two games against Webber International next Thurs. Sept 3rd, and begin conference play on the 19th of Sept. against the university of Tampa before coming home.
