Women’s Soccer Wins 3-1 over Webber, Froese Records Second Career Brace

BABSON PARK, Fla. — The Saint Leo women's soccer team earned a 3-1 victory over Webber International on Tuesday, led by sophomore Chloe Froese's Brace.  

After a scoreless first half, Chloe Froese broke through in the 61st minute to give the Lions the lead. Webber answered with a penalty kick in the 77th minute, but Froese struck again in the 82nd minute off an assist from Sara Hansen to put Saint Leo back in front. Kennedy Hartzell added an insurance goal on a penalty kick in the 89th minute to seal the victory. 

Froese led the Lions with two goals and four shots on goal, while Hartzell added a goal. Saint Leo controlled the attack throughout, outshooting Webber 29-5 and holding a 10-1 advantage in shots on goal and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. Addison Pitt made one save in goal for the Lions. 

The women's soccer team is back in action on Sept. 16th at the university of Tampa to begin conference play.
