SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo head men's basketball coach,
Spencer Henke, announces the 2026-27 men's basketball recruiting class that features six transfers, a call-up from last year's developmental team, and a true freshman. Additionally, the team returns eight players from last year's team.
Cooper Frith
5-11 | 165 | Guard | Senior
Meridian, Idaho
Frith transfers to Saint Leo from Regis University after playing the 2025-26 season form the Rangers. He started in all 16 games that he appeared in. On the year, Frith averaged 12.9 points per game with 2.4 assists per game and 1.9 boards per contest. From the field, he shot 42.1 percent and 34.3 from beyond the arc. At the charity stripe, Frith converted 87.5 percent of his attempts.
"Cooper brings us a veteran presence at the guard position that will be a big piece of our puzzle this upcoming year. Cooper's ability to make plays on both ends of the floor, along with how hard he plays and competes, jumped off the screen as we watched his film. One of my favorite things about Cooper is his willingness to learn; even with all the statistics he has already achieved in his career, he knows his best basketball is ahead of him. I can't wait to be a part of Cooper's growth this year and help him achieve the highest level of his career"
Tre McKinnon
6-5 | 177 | Forward | Redshirt Freshman
Wilmington, N.C.
McKinnon is a transfer from NCAA Division I, Appalachian State, during his true freshman year with the Mountaineers, he did not see action and retained a year of eligibility. In high school, McKinnon was a three star prospect, rated by 247 Sports. He became Lake Norman's all-time leading scorer with 1,698 points and averaged 18.9 points with 6.1 rebounds during his senior campaign. McKinnon also played in the Carolinas Classic All-Star game in 2024.
"Tre has a unique skill set that makes him one of the most exciting players on our roster next season. As a 6'5 guard who can play 1-3 with elite-level athleticism, he will be a difficult matchup on both ends of the floor. Tre's development is still early after his redshirt season at Appalachian State, but that excites me because he is going to grow a lot and contribute in many ways. We are extremely lucky to have Tre on our roster, and I can't wait to see what he does this year and beyond in the Green and Gold"
Zyair Greene
6-3 | 200 | Guard | Graduate Student
Atlanta, Ga.
Greene is a transfer from Indiana State, who appeared in four games for Sycamores before an injury. Prior to Indiana State, Greene played four seasons at Georgia College & State University. While with the Bobcats, Greene averaged 11.2 points over the course of four seasons with 2.3 boards per game. He totaled over 800 career points and collected more than 160 rebounds. From the field, Greene shot 38.1 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from beyond the arc.
"Zyair is someone who we have recruited several different times, and I am glad we finally are able to have him in Saint Leo colors. Coming off a shortened season at Indiana State due to injury, Zyair is coming into this season with a chip on his shoulder. He has shown how dominant he can be as a scorer at our level during his career at Georgia College, and our goal with Zyair this year is simple: bring that Zyair back. Our fans will be very excited once we get that Zyair back"
Jamarcus Brown
6-6 | 210 | Forward | Junior
Danville, Va.
Brown is a junior transfer from Lynchburg. This past season at Lynchburg, he was named the ODAC Defensive Player of the Year, a First Team All-ODAC selection, and a Second Team NABC All-District honoree. He averaged a career-high 20.7 point per game in his sophomore season along with 7.4 rebounds per game. Brown shot 56.8 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from the three-point line. On the glass, he collected 193 boards.
"Jamarcus truly has the potential to be one of the most impactful transfers in our league. His ability to score the ball at all three levels offensively and be a lockdown defender is second to none. Jamarcus will have a lot of expectations put on his shoulders every day, and I know he can handle them and will excel in his role. I am beyond excited to coach Jamarcus and hold him to the standards of being a LION every day"
Ethan Bevis
6-6 | 185 | Forward | Freshman
Oxford, Fla.
Bevis is a true freshman that graduated from Villages High School in the spring. During his time at the Villages, he helped the program reach the state finals in addition to averaging 9.3 points and 5.8 rebounds per game in his senior campaign.
"It is very rare that you can find incoming freshmen who are not only talented enough to impact immediately, but also committed to winning above all else - which is exactly who
Ethan Bevis is. Ethan's pedigree as a winner makes us extremely fortunate to have him in our program. His career is going to truly blossom as he gets acclimated to College Basketball, and I can't wait to help Ethan become the player I know he can be. I am extremely excited to see Ethan become a key contributor for us this year and beyond"
Jeremiah McNeely
6-5 | 156 | Guard | Sophomore
Tampa, Fla.
Earlier this summer, McNeely was called up from last year's developmental team and now is set to join the varsity team this upcoming season.
"Jeremiah is someone that I knew had the potential to make our varsity roster when he came to us last year on the developmental team. He has a hunger and desire to learn that helped him grow so much last year with our developmental team and prepare him for this jump. He represents what it means to be a LION, and his growth is going to continue this season each day. Can't wait to see the impact Jeremiah has on our locker room each day"
Bautista Giralt
7-0 | 235 | Forward | Junior
Buenos Aires, Argentina
Giralt is a transfer from the University of Albany and was a member of the men's basketball team for the last two years. Over the course of the last two seasons, he appeared in 33 games and started in 11. He totaled 42 points and grabbed 36 rebounds in 133 minutes of action. From the field, he shot 59.3 percent and 43.5 percent from the charity stripe.
"Bauti is literally and figuratively such a huge addition to our roster that I can't stress enough just how important he was to get into the green and gold. Bauti will require so much attention from the opposition on both sides of the ball, based on his physical attributes, that I truly believe he'll become one of the most dominant paint presences in our league. His minutes were limited at Albany, but he has a great skill set that translates immediately to our system, making him a perfect fit. His best basketball is ahead, and I can't wait to see that firsthand very soon"
Blaise Vespe
6-7 | 225 | Forward |Redshirt Senior
Cherry Hill, N.J.
Vespe comes to Saint Leo after being a member of Sunshine State Conference (SSC) counterpart, Nova Southeastern, in the 2025-26 season. For the Sharks, he appeared in 14 games and scored a total of 55 points and grabbed 35 rebounds. Prior to Nova Southeastern, Vespe played at Florida Gulf Coast from 2023 to 2025. For the Eagles, he appeared in a total of 32 games and scored 61 points with 43 boards.
"Blaise's experience when it comes to winning is second to none and initially is why he was so important to add to our roster. When we got Blaise to campus, it was also clear how talented Blaise is on both sides of the ball, making him the total package in my eyes. Blaise has yet to truly be unleashed in my eyes in terms of his production, and I think that is something we are going to help him achieve this year. I expect that Blaise will show everyone exactly what he can do across a full season this year, and I can't wait for that to be in Saint Leo colors."
