SAINT LEO, Fla. – For a second straight year, the Saint Leo baseball team was recognized for its success in the classroom, earning the 2025-26 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack.

The award recognizes ABCA member high school and collegiate baseball programs that achieved a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.

Saint Leo was one of nearly 500 collegiate programs across the country to receive the distinction, joining more than 800 high school and college baseball programs recognized by the ABCA for their commitment to academic achievement.

To be eligible for the honor, programs were required to:

• Be a high school or collegiate baseball program.
• Have a head coach who is a current member of the ABCA.
• Record a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.

Following the completion of the spring semester, ABCA member coaches were invited to nominate their teams for the award before the July 17 deadline.

The recognition continues Saint Leo baseball's tradition of excellence both on the field and in the classroom, highlighting the dedication of the Lions' student-athletes to achieving success academically while competing at a high level in NCAA Division II baseball.
