SAINT LEO, Fla. – After punching its ticket to the NCAA Division II Softball World Series, No. 1 ranked Saint Leo earned the top-seed for the World Series in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
With earning the top-seed, the Green & Gold will compete in the opening game of the championship tournament against eighth-seeded St. Thomas Aquinas on Thursday, May 28 at 11 a.m. in Frost Stadium in Warner Park.
The tournament will be double elimination until the National Championship Series, which will be a best-of-three series, taking place on Tuesday, June 2 and Wednesday June 3.
Saint Leo's four-team section of the bracket will feature fourth-seeded Cal. State San Marcos, fifth-seeded West Texas A&M, in addition to the Lions first competitor in eighth-seeded St. Thomas Aquinas.
On the opposite side, the four teams that hold the two-seed, three-seed, sixth-seed, and seventh-seed are Missouri Southern State, North Georgia, McKendree, and Glenville State, respectively.
