SAINT LEO, Fla. - The Saint Leo baseball team had three players named to the National College Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA) South All-Region Teams. Senior outfielder
Thomas DeBrower was tabbed to the First Team while senior infielder
Ryan Crivello and junior pitcher
Flynn Howard earned Second Team status.
DeBrower hit a staggering .413 at the plate, marking one of the best hitting performances in program history. He led the Green & Gold with 81 hits a .485 slugging percentage and a .520 on-base percentage. The Iowa native scored 61 runs and tallied 44 RBI. On the base-path, he stole 23 bases. DeBrower earns his second all-conference award as he wraps up his career. His batting average led the conference along with his 81 hits.
Crivello appeared and started in all 50 games this past season and registered a career-best .369 batting average as he boasted 73 hits and 24 extra-base hits. The Florida native also boasted career-highs with seven home runs and 59 RBI. Additionally, Crivello boasted a .601 slugging percentage and a .444 on-base percentage. Defensively, he was a reliable glove with a .955 fielding percentage that featured 82 putouts and 170 assists. This marks Crivello's second All-SSC nod of his career.
On the mound, Howard was stout all season with a 1.99 ERA (second-best in the league) and produced an 8-2 record. His 77 strikeouts ranked fifth highest in the SSC. He pitched 99.1 innings and boasted a 1.22 WHIP while holding opposing teams to a .245 average. In addition to earning All-SSC First Team recognition, Howard also claimed All-SSC Defensive Team laurels.
