DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Saint Leo University track and field saw both men's and women's teams place seventh at their inaugural SSC championship.
The men got the day started off strong in the 4x100m relay, with Joshua Warren, Fred Filsaime, Keyon Wilson, Jordan So placing third overall with a time of 41.99. The women's placed fourth overall running a season's best of 48.80. The women's team consisted of Mia Lewis, Giuliana Adonteng, Virginia Smith, Rayona Ocasio.
In the 1500m freshman Paul Rivera won the first heat, placing 16th overall and closed the last lap in 60.60 and fishing the race in 4:03.3. Freshman Jasmine Fajardo ran a personal best of 5:06.92 as well.
Joshua Warren shined in the 110m hurdles, placing second in the conference with a personal best of 14.47. Keyon Wilson took eighth in 15.60.
Freshman Kansas Henry took 7th overall with a 58.48 in the 400m.
In the 100m, freshman Giuliana Adonteng took 7th overall with a personal best of 12.35. Fred Filsaime with a personal best of 10.59, also a new school record.
The 800m saw freshman Adon Elienist ran a mark of 1:54.91, placing 7th and freshman Dackjerlin Senior Feliz continued to break her own school record, running 2:12.16. She placed 4th overall, the highest of any freshman at the meet in this event.
Jordan So placed 7th overall in the 200m with a time of 21.72.
Closing out the meet in the 4x400 was James Jones IV, Adon Elienist, Amir-Styles Benjamin, Fred Filsaime who placed 7th with a 3:23.32. For the women Virginia Smith, Dackjerlin (DJ) Senior, Hailey Newton, Kansas Henry.
The meet concludes with both men and women's team finishing seventh, with the men scoring 24 points and the women scoring 18.
