MELBOURNE, Fla. — Saint Leo university men's lacrosse took #6 ranked Florida Tech Panthers to the wire on the road, falling 8-7 in overtime in the SSC semi finals.
First Quarter:
Saint Leo responded to an early Florida Tech goal with scores from sophomore Anderson Smith and Greg Love to take a brief lead. Love recorded his first goal of the season and his career, but the Panthers closed the quarter ahead 3–2.
Second Quarter:
The Lions battled back, tying the game late as Smith and senior Greg Palmer each found the net, sending the teams into halftime even at 5–5.
Third Quarter:
Defense took over in the third, with Florida Tech scoring the lone goal to edge in front 6–5 heading into the fourth.
Fourth Quarter & OT:
Saint Leo answered with goals from seniors Tristan LeBlanc and Ben Baker, including the equalizer with under seven minutes left to tie it 7–7. Florida Tech ultimately netted the game winner at 1:25 in overtime.
