SAINT LEO, Fla. — Saint Leo Lions university men's tennis delivered a dominant performance Sunday, defeating Eastern Florida State College men's tennis 6–1 at the Saint Leo Tennis Complex to improve to 14–4 on the season to close out the regular season.
Saint Leo opened strong in doubles play, securing the point with a convincing win at No. 1 as Kodai Kato and Jose David Segovia cruised 6–4. Despite dropping the other two doubles matches, the Lions carried momentum into singles competition.
In singles, Saint Leo took control by winning five of six matches. Dylan Andrianaly set the tone with a straight-set win at No. 1 (6–3, 6–4), while Segovia followed with a 6–4, 6–2 victory at No. 2. At No. 3, Eduardo Cohen battled back after dropping the first set to secure a three-set win, and Kato dominated at No. 4 with a 6–2, 6–1 result.
The Lions continued their depth with Mahit Mekala earning a straight-set win at No. 5, and Shay Sarfati closing out the match with a three-set victory at No. 6. Saint Leo's consistency across the lineup proved decisive, as they controlled singles play to seal the 6–1 team win.
The men's tennis team now looks to the SSC tournament on May 1st where they will be the two seed.
