SAINT LEO, Fla. – Debuting its new ranking of #2 on Friday night, the Saint Leo University softball prevailed for the 29th time in a row. The Lions began a Sunshine State Conference series with the Florida Southern College Moccasins on Friday night with a 10-2 victory in five innings. Tierney Hocquard pitched another complete game for the Green & Gold as she earned her 14th win of the season. Saint Leo improves to 34-2-1 overall and remains perfect in SSC play at 19-0 extending the best start to conference play in program history. Florida Southern falls to 8-23 overall and 2-13 in SSC action.

Saint Leo scored 10 runs on 12 hits as four batters had a multi-hit game and 10 runs were scored by nine Lions as Alexis Barber scored two runs. In the circle, Tierney Hocquard once again was lights out as she kept the Mocs off the board for four innings. Hocquard allowed just two runs on five hits while striking out three and walking one. While zero's were put up on the scoreboard, the Mocs managed a base hit in each of the first four innings and managed to score a pair of runs in the fifth inning.
