ORLANDO, Fla. – Saint Leo University women's lacrosse senior goalkeeper
Jessica Harclerode was named the Sunshine State Conference defensive player of the week on Monday for the second time this season. Harclerode led the then-ninth ranked Lions to a 1-1 road trip to the Empire State. Saint Leo took on a pair of ranked opponents earning at 13-10 win at Pace. This marks the second time this season she was named SSC Defensive Player of the Week.
Harclerode anchored the cage in a 1-1 week, totaling 21 saves across 120 minutes while facing 66 shots. She opened with a 12-save effort in a 13-10 win at Pace, posting a .545 save percentage and adding five ground balls. Harclerode followed with nine saves, three ground balls, and a caused turnover at Mercy. She averaged 10.5 saves per game on the week with a .438 save percentage, consistently keeping the Lions within striking distance against high-powered offenses. On the season, Harclerode ranks third in the SSC with 75 total saves and 7.50 saves per game.
Harclerode and #11 Women's Lacrosse begins Sunshine State Conference play as it heads to Lakeland to take on the #2 Florida Southern at 6 p.m.
