SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo University men's tennis team closed out its week hosting #2 West Florida. The Argonauts took the match 5-2 but Saint Leo earned a quality win at number two singles as Jose David Segoiva took down the second-ranked singles player in Division II. With the loss, the Lions saw their three-match win streak come to an end as they fall to 7-2 overall, while West Florida improves to 11-1 on the season.
West Florida got off to an early lead with a pair of doubles wins to clinch the 1-0 advantage.
Saint Leo earned wins at number two and three singles.
Jose David Segovia dropped the first set 3-6 to the second-ranked singles player before rallying for a tie breaker win in the second set to tie it at one set apiece. In the final set, Segovia was on the right side of a 6-3 decision to take the victory.
Eduardo Cohen closed out the match with a two set victory to make it a 5-2 final in favor of the visiting team.
