WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Saint Leo baseball team lost 5-4 in Sunshine State Conference (SSC) action on the road in its series-opener versus Palm Beach Atlantic on Friday night. Despite a ninth inning rally, the Lions fell short to tie the game.

Thomas DeBrower with a shallow single to center field to trim the deficit to 5-2. Redshirt sophomore Jake Carillo hit a two-run single to shallow center field to cut the Sailfish lead to just one run (5-4). However, the Green & Gold offense was held at bay for the following at-bat.
Senior
Matt Delph started and pitched 1.2 innings and recorded two strikeouts as he allowed one run (earned) on three hits. In relief, freshman
Collin Lock had 6,1 innings of work while he tallied six strikeouts and surrendered four runs (three earned) on five hits.
The Lions will conclude their series versus the Sailfish tomorrow, Saturday, March 14 with a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
