SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Saint Leo men's basketball team lost 88-79 at home versus Embry-Riddle in the regular season finale on Senior Day.
The Lions opened the game with a 9-0 lead following a three-pointer by senior
Owen Pawlikowski, however, the Eagles answered and tied the game at 12-12. With the game deadlocked at 19-19, senior
Donovan Hill ignited the Lions offense as he connected on three consecutive threes and a mid-range jump shot to give the Green & Gold a 30-21 advantage. In the closing seconds of the first frame, Pawlikowski laced a mid-range jumper as Saint Leo held a 42-36 lead going into the half.
In the second frame, the Eagles' offense kicked into gear with 52 points to claim the win.
Hill led the Lions with 28 points, a career-best, and his ninth 20-point performance of the season to go along with nine boards, three steals, and a pair of assists. Pawlikowski finished with 26 points on 8-of-15 shooting while connecting on five threes. Senior
Matt Ansah registered 10 points, six rebounds, and dished out four assists. Junior
Luther Smith Jr. chipped in with eight points and three assists.
