Palmer Named SSC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player Of The Week

SAINT LEO, Fla. - Saint Leo university men's lacrosse senior attacker Greg Palmer has been tabbed the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
 
This is Palmer's third time receiving this honor, the last time in March of 2024. Palmer recorded 12 goals, four assists, and totaled 16 points on a 2-0 weekend to open the season for #19 Men's Lacrosse. In the opening weekend, Palmer posted a .480 shooting percentage, while also picking up four ground balls. He opened the season with six points in a 15-7 win over UAH. He added five goals, an assist, and four ground balls. The senior scored what proved to be the game-winning goal against the Chargers. To close out the weekend, Palmer dominated the Falcons of Montevallo scoring the Lions first four goals to jump out to a 4-1 advantage. He recorded 10 points on Sunday on seven goals and three assists while picking up a ground ball and causing a turnover. Early in the fourth quarter, Palmer hit a career milestone as his seventh goal of the game put the Lions up 20-9 and was his 100th of his career. 

Palmer currently leads NCAA DII in goals per game at 6, and is leading Saint Leo to the second highest scoring offense in the nation at 19.5 goals per game. 

Palmer and the men's lacrosse team are back in action this Saturday, Feb. 14 on the road against Florida Southern.
